Two months ago, the final book in the Legend Keepers trilogy was released. For those of you unfamiliar with this series, I wrote these novels for middle-grade readers (8 to 13-year-olds, and adults too!) to provide a hopeful and empowering story about the climate crisis.
This fast-paced adventure is a fun read, while also providing lots of facts about alpine animals and their changing environment. The story's two engaging protagonists -- an orphaned female mountain goat with a weighty destiny and an introverted 12-year-old boy turned environmentalist -- serve as role models for kids. In their parallel lives, the characters navigate life's challenges: overcoming loss and social conflicts and finding purpose in their lives, while learning the importance of family and friends.
