How High's the Water, Papa?

Discover the latest scientific investigations on Antarctica's icefield loss and the West Antarctic Ice Sheet's instability. Past predictions have underestimated the rate of loss of the ice Sheet.

In my blog posts, I rarely link news articles, rather than the original source of the topics. This post is an exception. The linked article (which references the National Academy of Sciences research) concisely explains the complicated issue of icefield loss from Antarctica. These latest scientific investigations provide an assessment of the vast West Antarctic Ice Sheet’s instability.

As more empirical data are collected, it seems that past predictions have often underestimated the rate of environmental changes resulting from the warming of Earth's atmosphere.

Just an FYI in case you're interested in keeping up on this.
